In the first three quarters, the company’s operating income reached 263.98 billion yuan, an increase of 8.0% over the same period last year, and the net profit attributable to the parent company was 6.83 billion yuan, an increase of 20.4% over the same period last year.

So far, the three quarterly reports of the three major telecom operators have been fully disclosed. According to public data, in the first three quarters of this year, China Mobile achieved operating income of 723.5 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 11.5%; the net profit attributable to shareholders of the parent company was 98.5 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 13.3%. In the first three quarters of 2022, China Telecom achieved operating income of 357.843 billion yuan, an increase of 9.6% over the same period last year; net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies was 24.543 billion yuan, an increase of 5.2% over the same period last year.

Based on the 273 days in the first three quarters of 2022, the three major operators achieved an average daily operating income of 4.928 billion yuan in the first three quarters of this year, and an average daily profit of 476 million yuan.

The announcement shows that in the first three quarters, China Unicom’s “Big Connection” user scale reached a new high, reaching a total of 840 million, of which 5G package users reached 200 million; China Mobile has a total of about 974 million customers, of which the number of 5G package customers It reached 557 million, and the mobile ARPU (average revenue per user) was 50.7 yuan, a year-on-year increase of 1.0%; China Telecom mobile users reached about 390 million, 5G package users reached about 251 million, and mobile user ARPU was 45.5 yuan.

The adjustment of revenue structure has become an important trend in the development of telecom operators. According to data disclosed by China Unicom, in the first three quarters of this year, China Unicom’s revenue structure has been continuously optimized, and the industrial Internet business has achieved revenue of 53.15 billion yuan, a significant increase of 29.9% year-on-year, accounting for 22.2% of the main business revenue; according to China Mobile According to the disclosed data, China Mobile’s revenue structure has continued to adjust. The main business revenue was 620.1 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 8.3%, and the other business revenue was 103.4 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 36.4%. Wang Zhengnan, a senior observer in the telecom operator industry, told the “Securities Daily” reporter that in the future, it is the general trend that innovative business income will surpass traditional business income. On the one hand, the demand for digital transformation of traditional industries has driven telecom operators to further improve and deepen the layout of innovative services; on the other hand, telecom operators have the need to develop innovative services when the growth rate of personal user ARPU is slowing down.

“At present, all telecom operators are actively deploying innovative businesses, and some companies are developing multiple innovative businesses at the same time.” Wang Zhengnan believes that this means that the trend of digital transformation is clear and the market is broad.
