The 6 county-level water administrative departments under the jurisdiction conducted interviews.
The interviews reported the typical problems found in the interviewed areas, such as groundwater exceeding the total amount approved, water drawing exceeding the permitted amount, water drawing permits without water resource demonstration and approval, water drawing statistics or metering facilities not standardized.
The interview emphasized that it is necessary to fully implement the rigid constraint requirements of water resources, and fulfill the political responsibilities of water management departments at all levels; strengthen the rectification of problems, earnestly fulfill the main responsibilities of water management departments, and increase supervision of weak links in water resources management and law enforcement to ensure that problems are rectified in place, and those areas that have not yet been rectified and implemented will be strictly held accountable; draw inferences from one instance to other cases, effectively play a warning and deterrent role, urge localities to strengthen the entire process and chain supervision in accordance with the law, effectively transmit pressure, and promote water resource management level up.
The relevant persons in charge of the 4 provincial water administrative departments and the 6 county-level water administrative departments under their jurisdiction said that they will use this interview as a warning, deeply reflect, and carry out comprehensive investigation and rectification against prominent problems.
The person in charge of the Supervision Department of the Ministry of Water Resources said that in the next step, the Ministry of Water Resources will organize the supervision and inspection of water resources management in 2023, and promote the local water administrative departments at all levels to strictly manage water resources and promote the intensive and economical use of water resources.
