The full electrification of automobiles has reached the peak of gasoline consumption in my country: we can only increase exports in the future

In the past ten years or so, new energy vehicles represented by electric vehicles have exploded in China, while fuel vehicles are declining, which has also led to the peak of domestic gasoline consumption, and we can only increase exports in the future.

According to information released by Cui Dongshu, Secretary-General of the Passenger Federation, the overall gasoline consumption of vehicles in my country has crossed the peak and will gradually decline in the future.

As passenger cars are basically gasoline cars, diesel cars are basically withdrawn, and new energy electric vehicles are growing rapidly. This year, the penetration rate of new energy in passenger cars will reach 28%. The peak of car carbon has been achieved.

At present, due to the large price difference between oil and electricity, new energy vehicles have obvious cost advantages. With the help of the national energy structure adjustment policy, the sales of new energy vehicles have soared, and the process of replacing fuel vehicles has accelerated.

It is estimated that sales of new energy vehicles will be around 6.5 million in 2022, and may exceed 8.4 million in 2023.

By the end of 2023, the number of new energy vehicles will exceed 20 million, accounting for 7% of the total number of vehicles. High fuel consumption models will be fully electrified, gasoline consumption will continue to decline, and the peak of gasoline consumption has been achieved. In the future, gasoline consumption will not exceed 120 million tons. , the remaining gasoline can only increase exports.

At present, the carbon peaking of passenger cars in China may have been completed ahead of schedule, and the carbon peaking of diesel vehicles represented by heavy trucks will also peak with the decline of real estate. Therefore, the carbon peak in China’s automobile transportation sector is already in sight.
