On October 29th, Beijing time, according to the famous NBA reporter Wo Shen, last year’s No. 12 pick Joshua Primo, who was cut by the Spurs, issued a statement in response to the dismissal.
The Spurs suddenly announced today that they were laying off 19-year-old Primo, which shocked the entire NBA world, and the outside world was speculating about the inside story, but no one revealed what happened.
Primo issued a statement via Woshen after his layoff, in which he wrote: “I know you are all surprised by today’s news, I have been seeking help to deal with the trauma I have suffered, and now I will take advantage of this. Focus more fully on your own mental health treatment for a while. I hope to be able to discuss these issues in the future so it can help others who are going through similar experiences, and thank you for respecting my privacy at this time.”
The Spurs selected Primo with the 12th overall pick last year. He played in 4 games this season, averaging 7 points, 3.3 rebounds and 4.5 assists in 23.3 minutes per game.
