Scientific disinfection, are you doing it right?

Daily cleaning at home

Disinfect if necessary

How to do daily disinfection scientifically?

Is more disinfection the better?

Keep these points in mind

How to maintain hand hygiene at home?

Pay attention to hand hygiene in home life. Before and after meals, when going out, after touching pets, after coughing or sneezing, or after touching other unclean objects, you need to clean your hands, wash your hands under running water with hand sanitizer or hand soap, Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds.

Hand sanitizer contains bactericidal ingredients (mainly alcohol), which has a certain disinfection effect. However, the disinfectant ingredients are often irritating and may cause allergic skin reactions.

How are household items disinfected?

The home environment is mainly clean, supplemented by preventive disinfection. It is necessary to clean up the indoor garbage in time to keep the indoor environment clean and tidy. When the temperature and air environment are suitable, try to use natural ventilation.

Commonly used small items such as mobile phones, remote controls, mice, door handles, faucets, various buttons, etc. can be wiped and disinfected with 60% to 80% alcohol cotton balls or disinfectant wipes. Larger objects such as desktops and floors can be disinfected by spraying, wiping or mopping with a disinfectant containing 500 mg/L of available chlorine (bromine). Clothing, bedding and other fabrics can be exposed to the sun for 4 to 6 hours, generally without special disinfection. Wash basins and toilets can be regularly disinfected with chlorine-containing disinfectant.

What are the key points of daily preventive disinfection?

First, select legal and effective disinfection products, and operate in accordance with the scope of use, disinfection concentration, disinfection method and disinfection time of the recorded disinfectant (or equipment) instruction manual. Secondly, choose the appropriate disinfection method (wipe, soak, spray, spray), and do personal protection at the same time. Before disinfection, do a good job of cleaning; after disinfection, remove residues if necessary (except for some naturally decomposable disinfectants).

Note that disinfection products should not be mixed with other cleaning agents; disinfection should follow a certain order, first inside and then outside, and try to be one-way. Unreasonable disinfection methods not only fail to kill viruses, but may cause harm to the body or the environment.

How to do tableware disinfection?

The first choice is to sterilize by boiling for 15 to 30 minutes, or sterilize by circulating steam for 30 minutes. You can also use 250 ~ 500 mg / liter of chlorine (bromine) disinfectant to soak for 30 minutes, and then wash with water. It should be noted that the time for boiling sterilization or circulating steam sterilization should be calculated from the start of boiling and steam injection, not the heating time. When sterilizing with circulating steam, the tableware should be placed with a gap and should not be placed closely to avoid affecting the disinfection effect. Soak disinfection should ensure that the tableware is completely submerged. If new tableware is put in, the time should be recalculated. Before disinfection, do a good job of cleaning.

How to sterilize express items?

Try not to buy items from overseas epidemic countries (regions) and domestic medium and high risk areas. The express packaging should be dismantled outdoors as much as possible, and masks and disposable gloves should be worn when dismantling at home. Wipe the surface of the package with disinfectant wipes or spray it with disinfectant, and let it stand for half an hour; wash your hands in time after disassembly. Items in the package are recommended to be classified and disinfected. Among them, items that are not resistant to high temperature and easy to corrode can be wiped and disinfected with alcohol cotton balls (sheets); items that are heat-resistant and washable can be disinfected by boiling; paper items can be exposed to sunlight more than 4 hours.

Is more disinfection the better?

No need to sanitize many times a day. The purpose of disinfection is to kill or remove pathogenic microorganisms on the transmission medium to achieve harmless treatment. In particular, the household environment is stable, there is no external pollution source, and cleaning is the main priority, and there is no need to disinfect multiple times every day.

Many chemical disinfectants are corrosive to a certain extent, and are also irritating to the respiratory tract, mucous membranes and skin. Excessive use of disinfectants is harmful to the human body, causes damage to articles, and pollutes the environment. The concentration of disinfectant should not be too high. For example, for preventive disinfection, the effective chlorine concentration of chlorine-containing disinfectant should not exceed 1000mg/L, and personal protection should be paid attention to during disinfection.

How to properly use alcohol for disinfection?

Alcohol is flammable and explosive, so you must pay attention to safety. Do not use alcohol for large-area spraying or disinfection of environmental surfaces.

It is not recommended to use alcohol to spray and disinfect clothing, and it may burn if exposed to an open flame or static electricity.

Store alcohol carefully, away from sources of ignition, and out of reach of children.

When using alcohol for disinfection, it is necessary to ensure ventilation, keep away from high-temperature objects, and must not come into contact with open flames.

Before using alcohol, clean the surrounding flammable and combustible materials, and do not spray it directly in the air.
