Recognize stroke symptoms

Take your precious time

· Race against time to save lives·

October 29, 2022 is the 17th “World Stroke Day”, the theme is “Recognize stroke symptoms and seize precious time”, and the slogan is “Race against time to save lives”.

Rapid identification of stroke

Rapid Recognition of Stroke: Stroke 120

means to 1 asymmetrical face

means check whether there is unilateral weakness in both arms

means listening (zero) whether the speech is clear

Once any of the above situations occurs, it is necessary to quickly dial the 120 emergency number and send the stroke patient to the hospital for treatment.

Thrombolytic therapy for stroke

Thrombolytic therapy is to dissolve the thrombus blocked in the cerebral blood vessels through thrombolytic drugs, so that the occluded blood vessels can be recanalized, the blood supply can be restored in time, and the ischemic brain tissue necrosis can be reduced. The treatment of acute cerebral stroke has a strict time window. The current optimal time for thrombolytic therapy is within 4.5 hours after the onset of the disease, and the opportunity for thrombolytic therapy will be lost if it exceeds 6 hours. The earlier a patient receives treatment, the greater the benefit.

The Huangpu Branch of Shanghai Ninth People’s Hospital applied the latest generation of thrombolytic drug tenecteplase to solve the complex difficulties in clinical application, bringing four advantages of “less, short, easy and fast”.

Less: Less preparation work, which can shorten the time for patient preparation for treatment.

Short: The injection time is only 5-10 seconds, and the thrombolysis can be fast.

Easy: A single intravenous bolus injection is simple and easy to operate. For patients who want to receive subsequent endovascular therapy, based on the characteristics of tenecteplase rapid thrombolysis and only intravenous bolus injection, the operation is more convenient and fast.

Fast: Start transshipment faster to reduce delays.

stroke prevention

A healthy lifestyle and standardized drug treatment can greatly reduce the risk of recurrent ischemic stroke.

A healthy lifestyle includes diet control, moderate exercise, smoking cessation and limiting alcohol consumption, and weight control. Eat a varied and balanced diet with vegetables, fruits, low-fat dairy products, and low total and saturated fat. For exercise, you can choose aerobic exercise such as brisk walking, jogging, and cycling. The amount of exercise should be appropriate. It is generally recommended that ≥3 days a week, 30-45 minutes each time is appropriate.

Standard drug treatment includes blood pressure control, antiplatelet therapy, treatment of high cholesterol (statins), treatment of heart disease, and control of blood sugar.

Develop a healthy lifestyle, regularly screen for stroke risk factors, and achieve early detection, early prevention, early diagnosis, and early treatment, which can effectively prevent and treat stroke.
