On October 25th, the signing ceremony of the memorandum of cooperation of Philips “Global Innovation Partner” and the unveiling ceremony of “Joint Innovation Laboratory” was successfully held in Suzhou Industrial Park.
Dr. Luo Benjin, Chief Expert of Jiangsu Institute of Industry and Research/Yangtze River Delta National Innovation Center, and Bill Chen, Senior Vice President of Philips Greater China, attended the event and delivered speeches. Wang Liang, Head of Overseas Cooperation Department of Jiangsu Institute of Industry and Research/National Innovation Center, and Human Resources of Philips Greater China Angela Zhou, Vice President of Resources, Dr. Huang Xianrui, Vice President and Chief Expert of Philips Magnetic Resonance Division, Jiang Yingqing, General Manager of Philips Medical (Suzhou), and Zhao Yan, General Manager of Philips Health Technology Suzhou Branch attended the event.
Under the cooperation framework, the two parties will focus on the exploration of cutting-edge technologies in the high-end medical imaging industry, cooperate to support innovative topics of “from zero to one”, and rely on the project to develop engineering talents, and give full play to the role of foreign-funded R&D centers in medical application technology research and technological innovation. The advantages of the system in the Yangtze River Delta are to create a more diverse, open, collaborative and globally influential technology innovation ecosystem for the medical imaging industry in the Yangtze River Delta.

As an industry leader, Philips has innovative genes and Chinese localization experience. Philips leadership will fully support the high-quality operation of the “Global Innovation Partnership” relationship and “Joint Innovation Lab” with Jiangsu Institute of Industry and Research Institute/National Innovation Center. In the future, the two parties will carry out specific scientific research projects, deepen cooperation in exploring cutting-edge medical technologies and cultivating medical engineering talents, and promote the deep integration of Philips and innovation elements in the Yangtze River Delta region.
Jiangsu Industrial Research Institute/National Innovation Center – Philips “Joint Innovation Lab” is the first innovative experimental platform jointly supported by the National Innovation Center and foreign-funded enterprises. At present, the frontier research project on the common problems of the industry in the field of magnetic resonance imaging is about to start.
