Changshaoying Manchu Township is located in the northern mountainous area of Huairou District. Due to inconvenient transportation, the difficulty of seeing a doctor has always troubled the local people. Wang Engui introduced that the villagers in Dongxindian Village can only rely on the Changshaoying Manchu Township Health Center to meet their needs. “That’s the nearest grassroots health organization to our village. Villagers go there to buy medicines, and it takes about half an hour to ride an electric bike.”
In this free clinic activity, the Hepatobiliary Disease Branch of the Chinese Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Beijing Tongxin Gongzhu China Heart Foundation prepared more than ten kinds of medicines for the villagers, including medicines for digestion, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular medicines, and liver and spleen medicines. As a result, Li Yuxiang, a villager in Dongxindian Village who received the medicine, said: “I told the doctor about my situation, and I can get a prescription and take the medicine in the village, which is very convenient.”
During the free clinic, Jiang Yuyong, Director of the Second Department of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine at Beijing Ditan Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medical University, prepared a health lecture for the villagers, focusing on regulating the body and preventing fatty liver, etc., to popularize health knowledge to the villagers.
