Liverpool only ranked 9th after 2 consecutive defeats, 8 points behind the top four and 13 points behind the top of the table

After beating the mighty Manchester City 1-0, Liverpool showed signs of coming back, but in the last 2 Premier League rounds, they fell into the quagmire of losing again.

Before the game against Manchester City, Liverpool were in poor condition, but in the home game against Manchester City, they beat Guardiola’s team 1-0, breaking the latter’s unbeaten body. They also beat West Ham 1-0 in the next round of the league and it looks like the team will be back on track.

However, in the last round of the league, they lost 0-1 away to the bottom of Nottingham Forest. Although Liverpool beat Ajax 3-0 away in the Champions League in midweek, they returned to the league and lost 1-2 at home to the lower Leeds United.

After 12 rounds of matches, Liverpool had 4 wins, 4 draws and 4 losses with only 16 points, ranking 9th in the Premier League.

Liverpool are as many as eight points behind fourth-placed Newcastle and 13 behind top-ranked Manchester City, while if Arsenal win, Liverpool will be as much as 15 points behind the top team.

If Liverpool can’t cheer up, then it is unknown whether they can qualify for next season’s Champions League after the end of the season.
