Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp believes that Nunes has become more and more comfortable in the Premier League after surviving an embarrassing start to the season.
Nunes, who moved from Benfica to Liverpool at a high price this summer, was suspended in the third game for overhead opponents. But recently scored goals one after another.
Klopp said: “The problem is not that the players all need extra time to work things out, it’s that everyone’s situation is different. He had a good start in the Community Shield and then got a red card and you’d be embarrassed . You can’t blame anyone, so you have to start over.”
After a downturn, Nunes seems to have adapted to his new environment, scoring in his last four starts. Klopp said: “He has really improved a lot, which naturally means he is adapting better and better.”
Regarding the Uruguay international’s future development, Klopp said: “No one knows, he doesn’t know himself, he has a lot of exciting qualities, but he has to stay in shape. It’s the most important thing in a professional player’s life, so We have to work hard on all fronts.”
