In September, the world’s most popular mobile game revenue ranked “King” first, “Genshin Impact” second
Today (October 24) Sensor Tower announced the world’s most popular mobile game revenue rankings in September. Tencent’s “Honor of Kings” ranked first in the world, and Mihayou’s “Yuan Shen” ranked second. Global mobile game players paid $6.2 billion in the App Store and Google Play in September this year, down 14% year-on-year.
Tencent’s “Honor of Kings” has attracted nearly 190 million US dollars in the global App Store and Google Play, ranking first in the global mobile game bestseller list. Revenue from the Chinese iOS market accounted for 94.5%, and revenue from overseas markets accounted for 5.5%. Note: Data does not include third-party Android channels.
Mihayou’s “Genshin Impact” mobile terminal ranked second on the list with a revenue of US$130 million, of which 43% of the revenue came from its Chinese iOS market, and the Japanese market accounted for 22.7%.
The U.S. remains the highest-grossing market for mobile gaming in the world, contributing $1.78 billion, or 28.7% of the global total. The Japanese market ranked second, accounting for 18.5%; the Chinese iOS market ranked third, accounting for 17.1%.
