The State Administration for Market Regulation recently notified the national special equipment safety status in 2022. By the end of 2022, the total number of special equipment in the country will reach 19.5525 million units. In 2022, there will be 108 special equipment accidents and related accidents across the country, with 101 deaths. Compared with 2021, the number of accidents will decrease by 2, or 1.82%, and the number of deaths will increase by 2, or 2.02%. The death toll per 10,000 units of special equipment was 0.07. There were no major accidents throughout the year, and the safety situation of special equipment was generally stable.
As of the end of 2022, a total of 60 cases of special equipment accidents have been closed. According to the analysis of closed cases, the causes of accidents are mainly divided into three categories: First, accidents occurred due to improper use and management, accounting for about 80.00%. Illegal operations are still the main cause of accidents, which are manifested in violations of regulations, improper operations or even unlicensed operations by operators, lack of maintenance, and poor management. The second is about 18.33% of accidents caused by failure of safety components and failure of protective devices due to inadequate maintenance. The third is accidents caused by other secondary reasons, accounting for about 1.67%.
In 2022, the national market supervision system dispatched 2,649,400 person-times, inspected 1,127,300 special equipment production and use units, issued 157,600 special equipment safety supervision instructions, and shut down 20,954 units (sets) of equipment. Special equipment inspection institutions supervised and inspected the manufacturing process of 1,326,200 sets of special equipment and components, and found and urged enterprises to deal with 15,300 hidden defects.
