According to the website of the State Administration for Market Regulation, a few days ago, FAW-Volkswagen Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the requirements of the “Regulations on the Recall of Defective Automobile Products” and the “Implementation Measures for the Regulations on the Administration of the Recall of Defective Automobile Products”. It has been decided to recall 18,357 imported Audi Q7 and Q8 series vehicles with V6 gasoline engine produced from June 13, 2019 to January 29, 2021 from December 26, 2022.
The metal parts of the fuel pump in the fuel tank of some vehicles within the scope of this recall may be broken due to rigidity problems, and the fragments may damage the sealing membrane in the fuel pump. This will cause the fuel pump to pump oil unevenly or fail to pump oil, causing the engine to run erratically and/or the engine to fail to start. In extreme cases, the engine may stall and power is interrupted during driving, posing a potential safety hazard.
FAW-Volkswagen Co., Ltd. will entrust Audi authorized dealers to replace the optimized fuel pump for the vehicles within the recall scope free of charge to eliminate potential safety hazards.
