Expert: Digital transformation is a “required course” for small and medium-sized enterprises

On October 29, at the 2022 China Real Economy Forum, a number of experts discussed the digital transformation of the manufacturing industry. Experts said that the digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises is a must-do work, and enterprises need to actively integrate into the wave of digital transformation.

The Industrial Internet, formed by the deep integration of a new generation of information technology and advanced manufacturing, provides connections, data and algorithms, and becomes a digital infrastructure that supports the transformation and upgrading of enterprises. After several years of development, the value of the Industrial Internet has expanded from improving transaction efficiency to improving industrial efficiency and servitization, helping companies gain higher added value.

In order to give full play to the value of the Industrial Internet, it is necessary to start from the application link to effectively solve the pain points of enterprises and generate value. In the opinion of Li Junqi, chairman of Fulian Industrial, the industrial Internet has realized the interconnection of supply chain, product design and manufacturing process and end customers, improved the operation efficiency of supply chain and industrial chain, and at the same time can realize personalized customization and optimal allocation of manufacturing resources .

Zhou Jian, secretary general of the National Committee for the Integration of Industrialization and Industrialization Management, pointed out that my country’s manufacturing industry is currently undergoing a huge digital transformation and transformation. The era is turning to the era of digitalization.

Of course, digital transformation is a long-term and arduous task. Faced with challenges in technological innovation, business capabilities, and talent training, it requires effective coordination at the overall level. “It is difficult for a single enterprise to complete the transformation by itself. It needs to work together from the enterprise and industrial system levels to solve the problem of the direction of transformation.” Zhou Jian believes that the first step is to realize the collection, sharing and utilization of the underlying data, build a sharing platform based on data, and build a shared platform based on data. Provide richer applications on the platform to promote rapid innovation, iterative optimization and spiral development of enterprises.

Wang Hao, deputy director of the Institute of Industrial Economics of the CCID Research Institute of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, also pointed out that the digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises must be done sooner or later. If they do not do it now, they may face greater difficulties in the fierce global competition in the future. On the one hand, the management of production processes by enterprises needs the support of digital platforms; on the other hand, the ability of untransformed enterprises and other transformed enterprises to integrate and develop with each other will become weaker and weaker.

Wang Hao believes that the government may introduce more supportive policies, build a public service platform for small, medium and micro enterprises, and provide subsidies and rewards related to digital transformation. In addition, small and medium-sized enterprises need to have the awareness of speeding up the transformation, and combine the characteristics of their own production processes to find better transformation plan providers, and to communicate better with leading enterprises in related industries and chain-owner enterprises. Drive and actively integrate into the big wave of digital transformation.
