From December 15, 2022, an expanded recall of some EQC electric vehicles with a production date between December 5, 2019 and September 17, 2022, totaling 3,345 units. From February 1, 2023, an expanded recall of some EQA and EQB electric vehicles with production dates between February 11, 2020 and October 10, 2022, totaling 8,078 vehicles.

The reason for the recall is that due to the manufacturing deviation of the electric drive module, the cooling system in the electric drive module of some vehicles within the scope of this recall may have insufficient sealing, resulting in coolant leakage. If the coolant slightly seeps into the motor, the insulation resistance value of the high-voltage system may be reduced after long-term use, resulting in the vehicle not starting. In addition, under extreme conditions, the output power of the electric drive module of the vehicle will be reduced, posing a safety hazard.

In response to the above defects, Beijing Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. will replace the improved electric drive module assembly for the vehicles within the recall scope free of charge through authorized dealers to eliminate potential safety hazards.

In addition, the recall measures for the “Beijing Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. recalls some EQC electric vehicles” released on February 18, 2022 were changed to: free replacement of the improved electric drive module assembly for vehicles within the recall scope.

On February 18, Beijing Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the requirements of the “Regulations on the Administration of Recall of Defective Automobile Products” and the “Implementation Measures for the Regulations on the Administration of the Recall of Defective Automobile Products”. From August 15, 2022, Beijing Benz Automotive Co., Ltd. is recalling some EQC electric vehicles with production dates between November 30, 2018 and December 15, 2021, totaling 10,104 units. The reason for the recall is that due to the manufacturing deviation of the electric drive module, the cooling system in the electric drive module of some vehicles within the scope of this recall may have insufficient sealing, resulting in coolant leakage. If the coolant slightly seeps into the motor, the insulation resistance value of the high-voltage system may be reduced after long-term use, and the vehicle may not be able to start in extreme cases. The leakage of coolant does not meet the requirements for sealing of the cooling system in the relevant national mandatory standards. Under extreme conditions, the output power of the electric drive module of the vehicle will be reduced, posing a safety hazard. In response to the above defects, Beijing Benz Automotive Co., Ltd. will check the production serial number of the electric drive module for the vehicles within the recall range through authorized dealers. If the production serial number is within the affected range, the improved electric drive module assembly will be replaced free of charge. , to eliminate security risks.
