Big deal! It was revealed that BYD spent nearly 5 billion yuan to place orders for shipbuilding: to create a “fleet” for the sea

After the domestic sales broke out completely, BYD focused on overseas markets, and has now landed in many countries and regions such as Asia, Europe, South America and North America.

However, due to the small number of its overseas factories, this means that a large part of the models must be exported domestically, which has also spawned the demand for BYD marine transport ships. For this reason, BYD will also build its own “going to sea” fleet “.

On October 29, according to media reports, BYD affiliates will order 8 ro-ro ships that can load 7,700 vehicles at a shipyard in Yantai, Shandong, with a total cost of nearly 5 billion yuan , of which 6 are basically determined to be built. The other 2 ships are option orders.

BYD officially stated that the company’s new energy vehicle operation footprint covers 6 continents, more than 70 countries and regions, and more than 400 cities.

Data shows that in September this year, BYD’s new energy vehicle sales reached 201,259; overseas sales of new energy passenger vehicles totaled 7,736, but with the expansion of overseas business, this number may usher in explosive growth.

In October, BYD officially announced that it had entered the European market, and at the same time signed a cooperation agreement with the global car rental company SIXT. According to the agreement, SIXT will purchase at least 100,000 new energy vehicles from BYD in the next six years.
