Beijing Benz expands recall of some EQA, EQB and EQC electric vehicles

Beijing Business Daily News (Reporter Liu Yang and Liu Xiaomeng) On October 28, the State Administration for Market Regulation announced that Beijing Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. File a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation and expand the recall of some EQA, EQB and EQC electric vehicles. This recall is an expanded recall of the “Beijing Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. recalls some EQC electric vehicles” released on February 18 this year.

Among them, from December 15 this year, the recall of some EQC electric vehicles produced between December 5, 2019 and September 17, 2022 will be expanded, with a total of 3,345 vehicles; from February 1 next year, the recall will be expanded on February 2, 2020. Some EQA and EQB electric vehicles produced from October 11 to October 10, 2022, totaling 8,078 units.

Due to the manufacturing deviation of the electric drive module, the cooling system in the electric drive module of some vehicles within the scope of this recall may have insufficient sealing, resulting in coolant leakage. If the coolant slightly seeps into the motor, the insulation resistance value of the high-voltage system may be reduced after long-term use, resulting in the vehicle not starting. In addition, under extreme conditions, the output power of the electric drive module of the vehicle will be reduced, posing a safety hazard.

Beijing Benz Automotive Co., Ltd. will replace the improved electric drive module assembly for the vehicles within the recall scope free of charge through authorized dealers to eliminate potential safety hazards.
