According to public information, in response to the threat of antitrust laws, Apple’s lobbying spending in 2022 will set a record, increasing by 44% year-on-year to $9.4 million.
For all of 2022, Amazon, Apple, Google, Meta, and Microsoft spent nearly $69 million lobbying the U.S. federal government in 2022, a 5% increase from 2021.
Apple’s lobbying spending rose the fastest, approaching $9.4 million, a record for the company. But Apple’s spending was lower than Microsoft’s $9.8 million and Google’s $10.9 million.
In terms of total spending, Amazon and Meta topped the list with $19.7 million and $19.2 million, respectively. Compared to 2021, Amazon’s spending rose about 2%, while Meta’s fell 4.6%.
