“Akihabara Trip 2: Director’s Cut” announced for PS4/NS/PC

Acquire has announced Akihabara Journey 2: Director’s Cut for PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC (Steam). The game will launch on April 20, 2023. Those who already own Journey to Akihabara 2 on PlayStation 4 or PC can also upgrade via paid downloadable content.

Director’s Cut Key Features

◆This is a brand new Director’s Cut! Journey to Akihabara 2, originally released for the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita in 2013, is back with new content and debuts on the Switch platform. Although the game has been modernized, it still maintains the atmosphere of the “Akihabara otaku culture” of the summer of 2013. Also, new elements of Director’s Cut have been added to allow more players to enjoy the game.

◆ “Katy Storyline” Added – A new storyline featuring female protagonist Katy Raikkonen has been added to the Director’s Cut, which was not possible in the original version of the game. The route has a new ending that connects to the future. In the director’s cut, the story has been reconstructed on the basis of the original plot, adding the “Kati Road” that leads the story to its true ending. A newly written script and newly recorded voiceover will immerse players in this new world of storytelling.

◆Includes all existing downloadable content – Journey to Akihabara 2: Director’s Cut includes all previous DLC skins and gear content, including collaborations with various media and companies. Enjoy exploring Akihabara’s unique clothing and gear.

Katie plot line

This is the “true ending of the story” that was not mentioned 10 years ago, and the protagonist betrays Shizuku in order to save Katie. The plot will be transformed by the appearance of new powers!

Katie is involved in events that lead to the awakening of her “special genes”. The “become a real magical girl!” joke is short-lived, but Katie understands that if her great powers are awakened, she’ll be dead.

There is only one way to save her – follow someone and betray Shizuku and the Akihabara Freedom Fighters.
