On October 28, the latest data released by Canalys showed that weak demand in the third quarter of 2022 caused global smartphone shipments to drop by 9% year-on-year to 298 million units. Samsung’s shipments topped the list with 64.1 million units, down 8% year-on-year. Apple was the only vendor to achieve growth, up 8% year-over-year, with shipments of 53 million units in second place. Xiaomi shipped 40.1 million units, down 8%. OPPO and vivo occupy the fourth and fifth place, with shipments of 28.5 million and 27.4 million units, respectively.
