After 32 years in office, Qiao Beifeng, the former head of Microsoft’s Windows Phone, announced that he would retire

Joe Belfiore, a 32-year Microsoft veteran and former head of Windows Phone, has announced his retirement from the software giant. Qiao Beifeng has been corporate vice president of Microsoft’s Office group for the past two years, but before that he was a key player in launching Windows Phone, Windows 10 and Microsoft’s early Media Center. Qiao Beifeng will stay until next summer to help with the transition, then retire from Microsoft to focus on his family.
